What aircraft Designer didn't dream about small, fast, pretty and comfortable aircraft, modern transportation vehicle? All of them dreamed of but A.S.Yakovlev managed to realize his dream into the practice.

Yak-40 was developed by the people that respected the country's need more than fashion requirements. Created in seventies Yak-40 is in operation up to now and doesn't lose its attraction. From 1000 produced aircraft about 500 continue to service native and foreign domestic lines. This is the first Russian aircraft that was certified accoding to FAR-25 requirements.

Yak-40 success inspired Design Bureau to develope Yak-42.
